Get over it, i feel like I am discriminated against for being a smoker. You know what there are enough places that ban smoking for all you crybabies to be whining about people smoking at an OUTDOOR movie venue. My Kids are already planning for the next movie! !!! Plenty of room, able to walk around cars not packed in, no worries about other people talking and we can talk without disturbing others, other car radios blaring made it easy for our kids on the roof top to hear, but next time I am bringing a portable radio too. Kids on top of car, toddler in front seat of car and us comfortable in the car too.īring you own food! !!! Popcorn from home without the too much salt. For a family of five to watch a movie! Cant beat that, we got there late found a spot just as the main show "Cars 3" started, 2nd day of showing (missed the previews ) but still able to get a killer view of the big screen near the rear exit. Most of these events tend to get crowded. They show free movies, they have a live band playing mainly fun oldies, free face painting and they always have some type of free kids activites, like a jumper and train ride. They have customer appreciation nights at least twice a year, which I always go to as well. You do come across some people that smoke herb, but they usually keep to themselves and stay in the car to smoke. Ive never really had a problem when I go. The line of cars for new movies is usually more than 3 city blocks long. You do have to arrive very early when there is a movie premier. Its especially nice when you have very young children who can not sit still in a movie theater yet. Cant beat being able to watch two movies for the price of one. Ive been coming here often, for the last 7 years. If people flash you with their headlamps as you drive past, your doing it wrong. The blinding light is painful to peoples eyes, and makes it hard to appreciate the film. Note of etiquette: latecomers driving into the theater mid-movie should consider switching to dimmer parking lamps. But you can bring an air mattress with you. You provide the sound system, and if you opt to watch from the bed of a pickup youll be fighting the noise from Highway 4. However, Bay Area favorite Kidners Meats and Deli is just on other side of the freeway.ĭrive-thru cinema is different, and may not be for everyone. Their is a no open fire policy though, so dont expect to create the cinematic nirvana of tailgate viewing parties. The usual popcorn and soft drinks are there, as well as Ice Cream. Service is reasonable, and facilities are holding their own. The Solano drive through is a great value, especially if youre in the mood for just chilling with soda and popcorn on the back of a pickup truck with a boombox. But, its still fun to go and we try to find a way to enjoy ourselves each time. Also, be sure to bring a loud enough radio since the highway traffic drowns out the sound often. But there really needs to be security personnel. There seems to be "something" annoying that happens each time from inconsiderate people, and I really do try to ignore it. The movie was enjoyable, but I had to wait until we got home to finish the evening. Also, theres no way Id be able to teach these people how to be considerate. Since these guys had 15+ people in their group, I decided to move in hopes of salvaging the evening. And I was simply trying to receive discrete "interaction" from the wife and these knuckleheads killed it. They were also more interested in catching up on the past years events than watching the movie. Last time we arrived early as usual, and some inconsiderate partiers decided to park perpendicular right in front of us. Of course you expect the typical unsavory-yet-acceptable activities, but the attendance of these potheads specifically are just too damn high! I often have to worry about passing a drug test with my employer based on the tonnage of weed exhaust emitting from this place and filtering with protest through my nostrils. We come here often and its fun in the sense of keeping a classic tradition alive.
