There is lots of news coming regarding Ben and Canada Skate Shop…. The Forged Hollow is significantly lighter than the Stage 11 and Hollow. The trucks only come in mid-profile (55mm) which makes for the perfect polyvalent skateboard trucks. 10 lighter than the Stage 11, it weighs in at 358gwhich is 42g less still. I’ve got word from the man himself, that he just loves the 8 inch deck.īut the thing is, we won’t be limiting ourselves to just one woodshop or one type of deck. The Stage 11 Forged Hollow is the second lightest truck in the Independent catalogue. Polar, Real, Anti-Hero and many other, just check out the slap woodshop thread for yourself. Thunder Polished Hollow Lights II Skateboard Trucks - 145mm. Ben gets up and also gets down on this sick deck Venture Polished Low Skateboard Trucks - 5.25' Hanger 8' Axle (Set of 2) INDEPENDENT Stage 11 Skateboard Trucks - Set of 2 (139 (8.0')) Tensor Alloys Skateboard Truck,5.0,Black. You see Canada Skate Shop, just like Ben, is all about quality and top pop, not hype! So when we discussed what kind of boards we should be stocking for the shop, it was a no brainer to go with the same woodshop that the top brands are using. Look at the smirk on his face, he loves that Generator Blank 8.0″ !!! Ben’s riding the 8.0 Generator woodshop blank I sent him a couple weeks ago. The only drawback with venture is compared to others, theyre pretty. The ledge is literally thigh high! How did you get up there Ben?īut then I looked a little closer and I figured it out. Sick team of course But Ive skated Ventures and Thunders and theyre both really nice. It’s pretty tough to pick out just a couple tricks from this video which features a ton of skating, but when I saw Ben start attempting nose slides on this ledge I was like damn… They are less turny than indys and might not last as long, but on the other. So, the main difference comes down to the geometry of each truck and their specific stock bushings. They have the same Kingpins, Axles, and Soft Aluminum for good grinding. But I gotta say, what deck has he been riding? He is killing it lately. Thunder trucks are about the best trucks you can get and will last you a long time. Indys, Ventures and Thunders are all manufactured in the same place, Ermico in SF. Now I won’t get into any of the technical aspects, I will leave that for Ben to dissect and believe me, he does a great job of it. While the Independent tricks are suitable for skate parks, ramps, and bowls. Their obsession has created a long-running underground market for vintage Independents. Also, they are more responsive and lightweight but also wear down faster. Yup, among the Indy faithful there’s a smaller, even-more-hardcore cult devoted to riding old-school trucks from the ’80s and ’90s. Once you watch this video, you’re gonna have to admit that this was a great one that Ben De Gros recently put out. The main difference between a Thunder and Independent truck is thunder trucks are best for street skating, cruising, and turning smoothly. Thunder head to head in Ben De Gros latest video – but the real questions is – what deck is he riding ?
